IF zombies get in your base they can easily bust your chests and thus delete all your stuff. Guess where the spider zombies go? Yep.easy prey.Ĩ)Gun safes are GODLY. We also have a lookout tower that can see the area above it. We have an entire other area, with a good tunnel going to it, for our campfires and forges. Zombie breaks one down? LOUDEST alarm EVER.ħ)Forges/Campfires:Do NOT have them near what matters (Bed/Gear). The other two get filled with whatever we are running low on.Ħ)Trees are FRIENDS. We always run one of corn and one of potatoes. Good crop rotation will fill in the weak spots. A series of 5x5 plots are fine, 4 of those plots will provide you what you need. Little bit exploity though.ĥ)Farms: They really DONT need to be HUGE. This will make cleanup easier and gore walls less of an issue. 2 blocks deep of water or metal siding stops gore blocks from forming. For some reason, they are less likely to do so with the second.Ĥ)Water and Metal Siding: Use them over spikes. Either by breaking, or phasing through the first door, zombies will get in. On the walls have iron bars so you can shoot into that 4 block area from multiple angles. Having an entry area wherein you have two doors about 4 blocks apart is wise. Could spell a surprise if you aren't aware.ģ)NEVER Trust a single door. On my server, we occasionally have big holes that need patching in a cliff face on the other side from where our base is cause the zombies would rather bee line at us than walk around. While your entry area might face South, do checks of the cliff sides around you. Adding spikes ensures they dont get to live for long if they do survive the fall (most wont).Ģ)More understanding the terrain: if you build in an area (underground entry via cliff) and a horde spawns, they are going to beat their way to you. If you choose a location that puts a cliff between them and you, well guess what.you are going to have a mess at the bottom of the cliff and a lot less to deal with. A lot fo hordes spawn north of you and run south.
